Essential Training an Ingredient to Success

In response to growing industry demand, PharmaVentures, a leading provider of specialist consultancy and intelligence services, has launched a series of training programmes to provide business executives from across the world with the essential skills necessary to manage and negotiate multi-million dollar agreements.

The pharmaceutical industry is constantly changing; with over 2756 deals and alliances completed in 2006 alone so it is essential that negotiators are trained to the highest standard. PharmaVentures is perfectly placed to provide this training and advice through its newly established PharmaDeals Academy.

Working with a range of external and internal advisors on the direction, content and delivery of the programmes PharmaVentures will provide delegates with expertise delivered by market leaders and shapers. The intensive workshops will showcase arenas such as progressive approaches, methods and techniques for the valuation of pharmaceutical products, technologies, alliances and ventures, identification and evaluation of opportunities, business strategy, benchmarking and product pipelines.

Talking about the negotiating successful strategic alliances and calculating their financial terms workshop, Eleanor Herriman, Director, Business Development, Vertex Pharmaceutical, Inc. said; “I had this workshop recommended highly to me by my colleagues. I was really impressed. I thought you did a really good job balancing between the didactic and the exercises. Excellent framework for business development, putting things into practice is when you really learn it."

Fintan Walton, CEO of PharmaVentures comments, “Our industry is always changing so training is an essential ingredient to its continued success. PharmaVentures can draw on its extensive experience to help shape the future of the industry by building confidence in deal negotiation and valuation. ”

He continues: “We decided to launch the Academy after the continued success of our international workshop programme. We are striving to empower the industry and its people, through our training, in order to derive maximum value from deal making activities.”

PharmaDeals Academy will also launch an Alumni in July 2007, which will be an exclusive networking club for delegates and a forum of senior executives that have access to networking and cutting edge discussions.

PharmaDeals Academy workshops planned for 2007;
Advanced Valuations of Pharmaceutical Strategic Alliances (18 – 19th April, Oxford)
Fundamentals of Valuation (18th April, London Heathrow)
Advanced Valuations of Pharmaceutical Strategic Alliances (4th- 5th May, Boston)
