Novartis appoints PharmaVentures as advisors on the future of its UK Horsham site

OXFORD, UK, April 11th, 2014

PharmaVentures is pleased to announce that it has been appointed by Novartis as advisors on the future options for its UK Horsham site. These options could include reusing part of the site as a science or business park, thereby creating a legacy with the possibility of creating some highly skilled jobs for the area in the future. PharmaVentures will provide expert advice on the feasibility of doing this, and to help identify potential partners.

PharmaVentures Strengthens M&A Team

PharmaVentures is pleased to announce the appointment of expert industry executive Nigel Trim as an associate to significantly enhance PharmaVentures Corporate Advisory offering to the CRO space. 

Over the last 30 years, Nigel has worked extensively across Europe, USA, CEE and South East Asia in the CRO and healthcare industry. Nigel has worked across multiple therapy areas within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device sectors and brings strategic and operational expertise to the team.

Nigel said “I am excited to be joining PharmaVentures. They already have an impressive track record as advisors and I very much look forward to helping them build upon this at a particularly exciting time in the CRO sector.”  

Nigel has extensive experience in M&A, integration, and creating and managing growth, having successfully built and sold several of his own companies, including Matrix Contract Research. He has also held several senior positions in international contract research organisations, most recently working as Managing Director of Venn Life Sciences. Prior to that, Nigel held the position of European Managing Director of Novella Clinical.

PharmaVentures advised Nanosight on its sale to Spectris plc.

PharmaVentures is pleased to announce that it has acted as exclusive M&A advisor to NanoSight in the successful sale of the company to Malvern Instruments, a Spectris plc company. Malvern completed the acquisition on 30th September 2013.

NanoSight’s business is based upon its unique Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) instrumentation and software technology and their application across life science and non-life science research. The acquisition follows exceptional year-on-year revenue growth for NanoSight with the company being named as one of 100 fastest growing tech companies in Britain in 2013.

This successful sale also builds on PharmaVentures reputation and success in the M&A field.

PharmaVentures advised Dogu Tip on its sale to Gulf Capital

PharmaVentures acts as Exclusive Advisor on the sale of a majority stake in Doğu Tip, a Turkish Diagnostic Imaging Services company, to Techno Group Investment Holdings, a Gulf Capital portfolio company

PharmaVentures is pleased to announce that Techno Group Investment Holdings, a portfolio company of Gulf Capital, has acquired 100% of Doğu Tip, a Turkish provider of outsourced diagnostic imaging services, with a subsequent allocation of 25% incentive shares to the management.

PharmaVentures, a leading life science and healthcare advisory firm, was advisor to Doğu Tip and its shareholders.

Techno Group is the leading provider of diagnostic imaging services in the MENA region.  Gulf Capital is a leading MENA private equity firm based in Abu Dhabi with close to $2 billion in assets under management.

PharmaVentures Acts as Exclusive Advisor to Sanofi in the Divestment of Zentiva’s Hlovovec Production Facility to Wood Pharma Holding

OXFORD, UK, December 19th, 2012

PharmaVentures is pleased to announce that it has acted as transaction advisors and sale process executioners for Sanofi. The current deal covers Sanofi’s divestment of its Zentiva subsidiary’s production plant in Hlohovec, Slovakia. Under the terms of this agreement, Sanofi will sell to Wood Pharma Holding the production, packaging and distribution part of its Zentiva business covering Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and Drug Products activities. The sale includes transfer of the production facilities and employees. Future co-operation in the purchase of drug products and APIs produced by Wood Pharma Holding in Hlohovec in the next five years has also been agreed.

This divestment follows the 2010 sale of Sanofi’s two European facilities (Porcheville, France and Alnwick, United Kingdom) to Covance where PharmaVentures acted as exclusive advisors to Sanofi.

PharmaVentures continues to strengthen its considerable experience in the M&A field including divestments of manufacturing and R&D businesses. Stephen Waterman joins PharmaVentures
